Last week being Thanksgiving, I had a lot of time to reflect on what the Lord has done for me. My heart was full from all His many blessings. I was reminded that every wonderful person, event, or experience was all because of Him and my life would not be the way it is without having Him as my foundation. For all of those wonderful things, I am very thankful.
God also reminded me that I would not be who I am without the terrible experiences or events that have happened in my life. He then sent me to Habakkuk 3:17-19, “Though the Fig Tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength, he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go the heights.”
So many times I forget that no matter what may have happened, I should thank the Lord because He will strengthen me through it all and help me to grow from that experience. That is what makes me who I am, and for that I am very thankful.
