Earth Day

You might be aware that Earth Day is this weekend.  The land is coming alive with spring all around us.  Even for fans of winter, like myself, there’s something about seeing the grass greening up and leaves starting to bud on the trees that’s exciting.  Scripture tells us that God’s creation shouts His praises.

"The grasslands of the wilderness overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness. The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy and sing." (Psalm 65: 12-13)

Spending time outside is, for me, one of the best places to seek quiet moments with God.  It’s free from technology and its distractions.  It’s one of those places where it seems easier to slow down and listen.  Perhaps the same is true for you, or maybe you find a different quiet space more conducive to being in God’s presence.  Where is that place for you?

Regardless of the place, spending time reflecting on the character of God through the scriptures and listening for His voice gives us reason to rejoice!  Our love for God grows through these times with Him and fosters an outpouring of praise in our hearts.

We have the opportunity and privilege to come before God as a church body every Sunday and lift up our praises.  Worship is an expression of the love in our hearts that has been growing there as we seek to know God more every day—praise for who He is, and thanks for what He has done!
